Reading books at The Brain Charity Library

Thanks to a grant from North West Housing Services, we have been able to purchase books as part of the Reading Agency’s Reading Well scheme for people with long-term conditions.

'How to Feel Better' book at The Brain Charity's libraryThese are books recommended by health professionals and by people with long term conditions, and include titles such as Rebuilding Your Life after Stroke and Mindfulness for Health, and titles for Carers such as The Carer’s Handbook and The Selfish Pig’s Guide to Caring.

Information about all of these books can be found in our online catalogue, by picking up a leaflet at The Brain Charity, or through the Reading Agency’s website.

We also have books supporting the Living Well with Dementia scheme.

All these books can now be borrowed from our library and information centre, upstairs at Norton Street.

We are also developing a fiction collection, particularly following the Reading Agency’s Mood-boosting Books promotion of uplifting books. Send us your recommendations for good reads to the virtual book club on our website forum.
