Award categories

We have 10 categories and we would love as many nominations as possible.

The categories are as follows:

Most Supportive Employer

Do you know a company, business or organisation that goes the extra mile to make sure their disabled employees get everything they need to reach their full potential at work? This award will go an organisation that understands that one size doesn’t fit all and that diversity in the workplace is crucial.

Creative Talent

We are looking for nominations from talented writers, designers, painters, actors, singers, dances and for any other creative talents out there!  If you know a creative star then let us know about them! 

Sports Talent

This award will go to an individual with commitment and talent in their chosen area of sport or exercise. If you know someone who despite their disability is an amazing boccia champion, a yoga guru or a keep fit fanatic this is the category to celebrate their success.

Community Organisation

The Community Organisation Award recognises groups which have made an outstanding contribution to their local community. They will be a service-user focused organisation which works hard to improve the lives of people with disabilities and strives every day to make the world a better place for them.

Outstanding Health Professional

This category is for the Health professional of the year and could be awarded to any health professional working in any discipline e.g. Neurologist, G.P, physio, nurse etc. They will be highly skilled at their job and will be the one that always goes the extra mile, does something extraordinary or is simply there for you when you need them. 

Outstanding Social Care Professional

This award recognises the significant role of the Home or day Care Worker, Social Worker or Charity worker that consistently provides a high quality standard of social care support. They are an individuals that persistently shows dedication, encourages independence and gives an excellent and dignified service to clients. This award is for an individual who truly does care about those they work for.

Outstanding Education Professional

This award will be given to the teacher, tutor, classroom assistant or professor etc. who has supported their students to gain the maximum benefit from their study. This individual is someone who ensures that all those attending their classes have equal opportunities to learn and reach their full potential.

Volunteer of the Year

This award recognises a volunteer who has worked tirelessly and generously give their free time, enthusiasm and energy to help improve the lives of disabled people or their family, friends or carers. An inspirational individual and example of true dedication, the winner of this award will be a valuable part of any community.

Entrepreneur of Excellence

The Entrepreneur of Excellence Award recognises individuals who have demonstrated talent, skill and commitment to bringing new ideas, business skills or innovations to the world. They are an individual with creative ideas that see them through with drive and passion.

The Sir Bert Massie Lifetime Achievement Award

The Lifetime Achievement Award honours an individual who has overcome their own particular obstacles and in doing so, become a positive role model for others. This award will go to an individual who has achieved more than anyone ever expected them to achieve and whose story inspires us all to reach high.
