Knit & Natter group at The Brain Charity

As well as being the smiling face that greets visitors to The Brain Charity on one morning a week, our reception volunteer Amanda has also set up and runs our Knit and Natter group on Wednesday mornings. We caught up with her and asked her a few questions:

Why set up the group?

Your Information Officer, Janet, and I challenged each other to get knitting again. It occurred to me that if I could knit in a group it would be easier to keep it up. I thought it would be nice to knit with other people.

What is your highlight so far?

I hadn’t planned to teach anyone how to knit, but I have. I’ve taught quite a few people now and just seeing those people move forward has been very rewarding.

What would you say to someone who wants to join in the new year?

The Knit and Natter Group is a very informal group. You can come and go as you want and you can come as you are. It’s a great way of making new friends, picking up new skills and meeting like-minded people. Give us a try!
