What is attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)?
ADHD is a common condition that affects the way people behave. It is usually diagnosed during childhood.
What causes ADHD?
The cause of ADHD is unknown, but the condition seems to run in families. Although there is no cure, support, such as extra help at school, can be put in place. It can also be treated with medication.
What are the symptoms of attention deficit disorder?
Symptoms of ADHD may include:
- Being restless
- A short attention span
- Fidgeting
- Acting on impulse
Symptoms of ADHD typically don’t worsen with age, but the way symptoms present can change over time.
Many adults find that with information leading to self awareness and or therapy, and medication they can achieve their aims and goals.
