Coffee morning
As part of the BNA Festival of Neuroscience, the guest speakers from Liverpool Neuroscience Group will run interactive sessions on a variety of topics relevant to brain health at our April, May and June coffee mornings.
Coming up:
April 7th: The healing power of sleep: How to boost health & wellness
In this session, Dr Tara Kidd from Liverpool John Moores University will discuss the importance of sleep to our health and wellbeing and provide tips on how to sleep better.
May 12th: What does it mean to age well?
How can we nurture our brains as we grow older? The brain is one of the most complex and vital organs in the body, making it essential to care for it, especially as we age.
Join Dr Sinéad Eccles from The Open University for an engaging workshop as part of the Take Five to Age Well campaign.
This campaign introduces five simple yet impactful steps to enhance your health and well-being. These steps are built around the Five Pillars of Brain Health: Nutrition, hydration, physical activity, cognitive stimulation and social connection.
During this session, Dr Eccles will delve into each of these pillars, exploring how they influence your brain health and sharing practical tips you can start using right away.
June 2nd: The social side of pain: How social interactions influence pain
Dr Charlotte Krahé and her PhD student, Maria Planes Alias, from Liverpool John Moores University will discuss their research on the impact of social relationships on both acute and chronic pain, the role of empathy from healthcare providers in shaping pain experiences and other challenges of navigating the healthcare system as a chronic pain patient.
These talks are free to attend for all.
Anyone affected by a neurological condition, including carers and friends, is welcome to join us at this monthly information event.
You can receive advice and information and meet other people who have neurological conditions, to share experiences and have a chat. We often have guest speakers too.
Refreshments are free and there’s a relaxed atmosphere for you to enjoy.
Coffee mornings are held in The Brain Charity centre and also run simultaneously online over MS Teams for people who prefer to join in from the comfort of home.
