The premiere of Ruby Colley’s Hello Halo
The Brain Charity is delighted to announce the premiere of Hello Halo, a captivating new composition by composer, violinist, and sound artist Ruby Colley.
The event will take place on Monday, 3rd February 2025 at the Liverpool Philharmonic.
About Hello Halo
Hello Halo is an intimate and ground-breaking exploration of communication, inspired by Ruby Colley’s lived experience as a neurodiverse musician and her close relationship with her neurodivergent brother, Paul.
Despite being labelled ‘non-verbal’, Paul communicates using a rich array of sounds and gestures. Ruby’s composition transforms these into a vocal map of Paul’s life, relationships, and individuality, using live performance alongside recordings of Paul’s voice.
This thought-provoking work delves into the meaning of communication, asking profound questions about what it means to be human. Designed to resonate with both neurodiverse and neurotypical audiences, Hello Halo is an unmissable experience of empathy, connection, and artistry.
